Homemade ginger ale

This ginger ale is delicious! Better than any store bought you can get…soooo it’s totally worth the bit of effort! It doesn’t take long but the more time you give it to meld flavours, the better it will taste!! Try it! Cheers!

Ginger ale

1 extra large piece ginger root, peeled & grated

2 lemons, zested & juiced

2/3 cup brown sugar

3-4 cups sparkling water or Club soda

In a large mason jar, muddle ginger and brown sugar with lemon juice and zest. Seal & shake. Let sit for at least an hour – or up to four hours – before straining. Once strained, taste, adding more lemon juice or brown sugar as desired then add the sparking water.

Tip: add the water in half then a quarter at a time (adding more or less depending on how zingy you want it. The less sparkling water you use, the more zingy it will be)..

Serve over ice & enjoy!! Super refreshing on its own or add a little vodka & a lemon slice to make it like a ginger beer cocktail!!
