The Halfie: half brownie, half cookie!

I was looking for a new holiday cookie that had that “wow” factor & I totally found it!…It’s the halfie!! Half brownie, half cookie.. aka the brookie!

Delicious chocolate chip cookie meets soft chewy brownie!! Try them!!

The Halfie

The Chcolotate chip half:

10 Tbsp butter, softened

2/3 cup brown sugar

2/3 cup granulated sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla (I used half a vanilla bean pod)

2  cups all purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

1 cup chocolate chips: half milk, half semi sweet

1/4 cup milk, added 1 tbsp at a time

The brownie half:

10 tbsp butter, softened

2/3 cup brown sugar

2/3 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 large egg yolk

1 tsp vanilla (again I used the pod seeds)

1 1/2 cups flour

3/4 cup cocoa powder

1 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

Pre heat oven to 350 degrees.

For each batter, combine the wet & the dry in separate bowls..

Cream butter and sugars with an electric mixer for 1/-2 mins until light & fluffy!

Add eggs & vanilla.

In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda & salt. (For the brownie half, include the cocoa powder).

Combine the flour mixture into the butter and sugar mixture and mix until smooth. (Don’t forget the chocolate chips for the chocolate chip half.

Tip: Add milk to the chocolate chip half if it’s too thick & add more flour to the brownie mix if it’s too dry, key is to try to match dough consistency for even texture & cooking. Try baking a tester cookie if you’re worried.

Roll 2/3 chocolate chip dough & then 1/3 brownie dough lightly pressed together into one semi flat ball.

Make straight chocolate cookies with any left over brownie dough.

Bake for 8-11 mins until very lightly browned.

Cool on the sheet for a few mins until transferring cookies to a cooling rack.

Eat & share, or don’t share – I won’t judge! Haha!!
