Chocolatey, fudgy brownies with a hint of dark stout beer flavour that makes them so gooey & delicious!!!
Guinness Brownies
1/2 c Guinness Beer
12 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped (I use good quality chocolate chips – no chopping required!)
1 c unsalted butter
1 1/2 c granulated sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 c flour
1 tsp salt
Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees then grease & line with parchment paper a 9” x 9” square baking pan.
Heat the Guinness over medium-high heat in a small saucepan, simmer for about 5 mins or so until it’s been reduced by half – set aside to cool.
In a double boiler or a heat proof glass bowl set over simmering water, melt chocolate stirring occasionally until smooth. Set aside to cool.
In a large mixing bowl, beat sugar, eggs & vanilla until mixture is pale yellow & slightly fluffy. Gradually add melted chocolate & reduced Guinness. Fold in the flour & salt mixing just to combine.
Pour brownie mixture Intro the prepared pan & bake until a toothpick comes out without wet crumbs – about 45 mins.
Cool before serving then top with whip cream & fruit or I topped it with S’mores gelato – yum!!!
I’m typing this comment with one hand, as I’m currently waving goodbye to my diet with the other! This looks positively divine!
